Spilanthes (Acmella oleracea), or toothache plant, is often used as an ally for oral health. It is also an immunostimulant assisting cold/flu symptoms while supporting good digestive health. We enjoy better oral health by using our Spilanthes Tincture as a daily mouthwash after brushing teeth. Use one dropperful in a small amount of water and swish away bad breath, gingivitis, bleeding gums, and candida on the tongue.
Spilanthes has a natural tingling sensation and acts to numb pain. For a toothache, drop the tincture onto a cotton swab and apply it to the infected tooth as often as needed. Spilanthes will induce saliva production when directly placed onto the gums, so be aware of the drool that will happen! It's not a bad taste and the numbing antiseptic effect is wonderful for toothaches.
Spilanthes also can be used as an internal tincture for symptoms such as fever, sore throat and colds - like Echinacea (they are in the same plant family). We recommend taking 3 to 4 dropperfuls every few hours for the first day or two. If an infection does arrive, we suggest supporting that with Usnea as your natural antibiotic.
Contraindications:
pregnancy, lactation
Supplement facts: 1 dropperful equals 15-20 drops of Spilanthes, 60% Grain Alcohol, 40% Reverse Osmosis Water.
Suggested daily oral health use: Place about one dropperful (about 15-20 drops) into 1 ounce water and swish or gargle, after you brush your teeth.
For immune system support: take 10 drops per day.
At the onset of cold/fever symptoms: take 3 to 4 dropperfuls every 3 hours for the first day or two.
