Environmentally safe, with no citronella, Bug B Gone Spray sticks to the skin with our witch hazel infusion. Mist in the air and walk through for gentle coverage, or apply directly to skin and clothing for stronger protection. Shake well before each use. This formula is super concentrated, so less is best. Gardeners especially love our Bug B Gone Solid! Apply to the insides of your arms, feet/ankle areas, and behind the neck for a bug-free 2-3 hours in the garden or yard. It can sit out in the sun for hours without melting.
What makes Bug B Gone work?
The oil of lemon eucalyptus contains a powerful insect repellent compound, PMD (p-menthane-3,8-diol), that is a highly effective and long-acting mosquito repellent, similar to DEET. PMD also protects against the ticks that carry Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, by keeping them from attaching and feasting. Widely considered to be safe, PMD is the only plant-based repellent the CDC has approved for public use.
Rosemary oil is used in natural pesticides to kill certain insects. Additionally, the oil helps repel some blood-sucking insects, such as particular mosquitoes and ticks.
Peppermint oil, with its strong scent and tingly sensation, is great for repelling lots of different types of bugs. An active ingredient in peppermint (p- Menthane-3, 8-diol) has been registered with the EPA as a mosquito repellent since 2000.
Topically applied, cedarwood oil helps repel fleas, ticks, and moths from fabric, people, and pets.
Geraniol, the active ingredient in geranium oil, has been proven effective in repelling a wide variety of insects, including mosquitoes, flies, cockroaches, ants, fleas, gnats, and ticks.
